What do you want to be when you grow up?

Last night I was having difficulty sleeping. (OK, that's an understatement, I woke up at 11:30 pm and stayed awake until 5!) Pinch

After praying for everything I could think of, and then some...I was ready for some quality listening time. The question came, "What do you want to be when you grow up?". Wow, that was a stumper. Here I am, roughly mid-way through my expected life-span and I still need to decide?!

                                                         Confused

I could think of character qualities I had hoped to acquire somewhere along the way...compassion, love, faithfulness, empathy, wisdom--and the list continues.

Maybe it's the American cultural mind-set that made me delve into thinking of "what" I wanted to be successful at. I've been reading a lot lately, mostly biographies of people who'd make an incredible mark in history. Blushing I was feeling pretty un-successful. My life thus far seemed to be an endless stream of survival and child-rearing (OK 12 kids, with 3.5 still at home), and doing what I could in helping others along the way.

Now it seemed like I was being given a choice at anything I wanted. Kinda scary. (Made me feel like I could kinda understand what Solomon felt like.)

UnsureWhat would you choose?

My choice? I want to be a reflection. I like doing some things more than others, obviously. Life is that way.  But the one thing I want more than anything is to be used to draw others to Jesus. I want to reflect Him to others.

Angel   So please pray for me...like everybody else, I am still a work in progress...
